Emily is a leader of McKinsey’s Organization Practice, where she leads our work in healthcare. She is one of the original founders of McKinsey Academy—a part of the firm dedicated to helping clients build capabilities at scale, from executives to front-line employees. For the past 15 years, Emily’s work has focused on leading large transformations at scale, including mergers and divestitures, integrations, growth and value-creation strategies, cash and service operations optimization, and regulatory risk mitigation. Emily brings deep expertise in helping companies sustain change through upskilling and reskilling leaders and front-line teams.
Emily has led work globally across North America, Europe, and Asia. Currently, Emily leads the Asians at McKinsey community in North America and is committed to supporting and celebrating diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Prior to joining McKinsey, Emily was an early employee at comScore Networks and Publicis. Emily was also a Mellon Fellow. |
Elaine Dang

Elaine Dang is an Engagement Manager based in the San Francisco office of McKinsey focused on public sector and organizational health including DE&I. Prior to McKinsey, she worked at Teach For America and with startups in Kenya. She is a first-generation American and college graduate which has driven her passion for social justice, mental health, and the AAPI community. She is a leader of Asians at McKinsey (AAM), and one of the co-authors of the recent report COVID-19 and Advancing Asian American Recovery. She also channels her passion for the AAPI community and creating an equitable world as a board member of Act To Change, a nonprofit addressing bullying and hate with AAPI youth.
Elaine holds dual degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. |

Miki St. John

Miki St John is the Head of Digital Innovation at Deloitte Japan and is based in San Francisco, CA. She leads Japan & US cross border team in Silicon Valley, managing open innovation projects which include technology scouting, partnership & business development, go-to-market strategy, M&A, CVC advisory and executive workshops. She is a strong thought-leader of Femtech, and of gender parity movement for Japan, also advises Tokyo Metropolitan Government on its public innovation programs for female entrepreneurs to scale their business domestically and internationally.
Prior to Deloitte, she led Japanese market development and strategic partnership at Google and SAP. She was co-founder of Google Japan’s Women ERG and Parents’ committee, played critical role of driving diversity and inclusion culture in Japan. She holds a B.A. in Law from Rikkyo University in Tokyo. |

Jane is the co-founder of Nunchi, an online jewelry and accessories retailer committed to sustainability, inclusive representation, and retail activism. Nunchi upholds purposeful living by aligning the way consumers spend money with their values. From its launch, co-founders Jane and Michelle have been committed to both the quality of their products as well as actively pursuing their mission of dismantling systemic racism. Jane has 10 years of experience in the fine jewelry business, leading local and overseas production and growth strategies at startups.

Michelle Williams

Michelle is Jane’s Co-Founder at Nunchi, and a second year MBA student here at Duke where she President of the Center On Leadership & Ethics (COLE) Fellowship. Prior to Duke, she has worked across retail and technology at Amazon, Macy’s, and most recently Apple. Michelle is a fierce advocate for human rights and also serves as a Consultant at Fayetteville Road, LLC, a consulting agency with a focus on retail technology integration, education, recruiting and building community for diverse consumers, specifically women of color.
She attended undergrad at Cornell University and currently resides in Durham, NC with her dog Lola. |
Edmund Malesky

Edmund Malesky is a Professor of Political Economy at Duke University and is a noted specialist in economic development, authoritarian institutions, and comparative political economy in Vietnam. He is the director of the Duke Center for International Development (DCID) and the Chair of the Southeast Asia Research Group (SEAREG) Council. Since 2014, he has been a member of the board of the International Political Economy Society (IPES). He also serve on the editorial boards of several publications, including the Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, and the Journal of East Asian Studies. In 2013, He was appointed by President Obama to serve on the board of the Vietnam Education Foundation. In 2012, He received a state medal from the Government of Vietnam for my role in promoting economic development for USAID’s Vietnam Provincial Competitiveness Index.

Eddy Chan is a founding partner of “Indonesia-only” independent early-stage venture capital firm Intudo Ventures, that acts as the Indonesia beachhead strategy for dozens of leading institutions, VC/PE/hedge funds and family offices from the United States, North Asia and Southeast Asia and supports the “digital transformation” strategy of dozens of Indonesian conglomerates. Intudo portfolio companies include Xendit, Halodoc, TaniHub, Kargo, PasarPolis, BeliMobilGue, Yummy Corp., and more.
Prior to co-founding Intudo Ventures, Eddy invested in and advised startups since the late 1990s, including PayPal, Palantir, and Affirm, founded and operated venture-backed technology companies with operations in Silicon Valley and Asia, practiced corporate/M&A/private equity/venture capital law in Silicon Valley and Asia at Morrison & Foerster LLP and represented companies as an investment banker. Eddy holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was a Global Law Scholar, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley’s Walter A. He has led delivery, and client management teams with start-ups like Mu Sigma and Manthan and recently led analytics consulting practice in BCG, a global strategy consulting firm, before joining Tesco PLC as Global Analytics Head.
